CleanUpTheNet began with a simple goal: finding a better way to help protect children from harmful online content while keeping the internet open for learning and discovery.
What started as a DNS-based filtering experiment grew into a working protection system and became the foundation for our next step — MobileGuard Dog.
The next step for CleanUpTheNet is the development of MobileGuard Dog, an Android application that brings our filtering technology directly onto the child's device. The same principles used in our DNS filtering system will become part of an easy-to-use app available through the Google Play Store.
MobileGuard Dog will include multiple protection lists containing hundreds of thousands of blocked websites. Parents will be able to choose the level of protection that best fits their family, including specialized lists created for different countries and regions.
Beyond the main protection lists, parents will have additional options to block specific categories or services, including selected social media platforms. Around the world, many countries are discussing how children should use social media, but regulations and solutions continue to vary.
MobileGuard Dog follows a simple idea: parents should have the final choice. Instead of waiting for changing rules or complicated restrictions, parents can decide what content and services are allowed on their child's device.
All settings will be protected by a parent password, helping ensure that the protection remains controlled by the family.
